Player auction

Player auction software for your cricket league

Run auction night like the big leagues. The auctioneer taps the team that bids, SportsHeroes enforces every purse and squad rule, and the same bid appears on the venue screen, the YouTube stream and every team owner's phone.

Set up the auction

Create the auction for your tournament: each team's purse, the squad size and the player pool. Players can be grouped into categories with limits, so every team ends up with a balanced squad.

Tap the team that bids

Bring a player up and each team has a paddle on screen. Tap a paddle and the bid moves to the next increment, or type a jump bid when a team wants to leap ahead. The room always shows the current bid, the leading team and the next bid amount.

Rules enforced for you

The server checks every bid, so mistakes cannot slip through in the heat of the moment:

  • A team cannot bid more than its purse allows while still keeping enough money back to complete its squad.
  • Squad size and category limits are respected for every sale.
  • When no other team can afford to go higher, the room tells the auctioneer so the lot can be closed.
  • If two bids arrive at the same moment, only one is accepted and the other is asked to bid again, so the record is never ambiguous.

One bid, every screen

The same bid shows everywhere at once. Put the auction screen on a projector or LED wall at the venue, add the auction overlay to your YouTube stream in OBS or vMix, and give each team owner a phone view of their purse and squad. When a player is sold, the SOLD graphic appears and the player joins that team's squad.

Undo when the auctioneer slips

Tapped the wrong team or sold too early? One tap undoes the last action, and the lot reopens exactly as it was.

From auction to scoring

Sold players land in their team's squad, ready for the tournament. The same SportsHeroes account then scores the matches ball by ball and streams them with live overlays.

Frequently asked questions

Can the auction be shown on a big screen at the venue?

Yes. The auction has a venue screen view for a projector or LED wall, an overlay for your YouTube stream, and a phone view for team owners. All three show the same bid at the same time.

Does it stop teams from overspending?

Yes. Every bid is checked on the server against the team's purse, its squad size and category limits, including keeping enough money back to complete the squad.

What if the auctioneer taps the wrong team?

Undo the last action with one tap and the lot reopens exactly as it was.

Can teams make jump bids?

Yes. Besides the normal increment, the auctioneer can enter a higher jump bid for the team that calls it.

Do sold players go into the team squads automatically?

Yes. When a player is sold, they are added to the buying team's squad, ready for the tournament.
